PLEASANTON, Texas - Nearly six years after the mass shooting in Sutherland Springs, another community in Texas is coming together to surprise one of the survivors.
Kris Workman, a Pleasanton resident was shot in the back during the 2017 shooting.
Those bullets left him paralyzed, changing the trajectory of his life forever.
Workman used to be a race car driver and the community surprised him with a new kind of race car that he can control, which means he'll be able to race for the first time since the shooting.
Residents of Pleasanton made this happen through donations and their own commitment.
